You might have asked yourself, “Why should I join REOMA? My rental business is running smoothly (more or less) and I don’t have time to attend every monthly meeting. I already get the benefit of REOMA lobbying efforts without being a member. So why join?” Here are three good answers:
Collective Effectiveness. While it’s true an extra member here or there won’t affect our activities in the legislative vigilance department, it is also true that every extra member affects our impact. More members equals more clout. It’s that simple. And in this age of one-sided consumer legislation, we all need all the clout we can muster. The more rental units we represent, the more seriously our voice will be heard when we need to speak.
Valuable Information. While members are encouraged to participate in our monthly meetings, attendance is not mandatory. Each monthly meeting features a knowledgeable speaker addressing a critical aspect of the rental industry. As a REOMA member, you receive advance notice of the meeting and the topic. Just one money-saving idea picked up from one monthly program could save several decades worth of REOMA membership dues.
Networking. This is perhaps the greatest benefit of all, especially for the small operator. REOMA members are happy to share their knowledge with other REOMA members. If you are having a problem, chances are another member has already faced a similar problem. You can learn effective ways of dealing with a wide range of rental problems through your REOMA contacts.
